Film Screening and Discussion: "The Zone of Interest" at Verstehbahnhof in Fürstenbergtenberg

Together with the association "Brückenschlag Fürstenberg e.V". and the "Fürstenberger Verstehbahnhof", the Ravensbrück Memorial invites you to a joint film screening and discussion at the Fürstenberg train station. The two-time Oscar-winning film THE ZONE OF INTEREST by director Jonathan Glazer will be shown, which has sparked discussions since its release.

Synopsis: Director and screenwriter Jonathan Glazer was inspired by the book of the same name by the late author Martin Amis. His film explores the horrors of the Holocaust from the perspective of Rudolf and Hedwig Höß, the commandant of Auschwitz, and his family, who live a highly privileged life in their picture-perfect home, separated by only a wall from the extermination camp. Following the film, a discussion will take place with the director of the Ravensbrück Memorial, Dr. Andrea Genest, who will reflect on the film’s themes together with Kirsten Poggendorff (Brückenschlag e.V.).
